Les Arcs — Anticipating traffic conditions on busy Saturdays
On peak Saturdays with major departures and arrivals, traffic in the Tarentaise Valley can be heavily disrupted by traffic management measures on the RN90.
On the way to the resort, whether you are travelling from Geneva, Chambéry or Lyon airports, several potential bottlenecks can affect your journey to Les Arcs. Traffic lights may be activated on the RN90, particularly on the 2 × 2 lane section near Aigueblanche and Moûtiers, as well as around the Siaix Tunnel, to manage the high volume of vehicles heading up towards the ski resorts.
For your return journey to Geneva, Chambéry or Lyon airports, the main traffic control point is located on the RN90 after Aime. When activated, this system regulates downhill traffic coming from Les Arcs, La Plagne and other resorts in the Tarentaise Valley. During peak periods, travel times can therefore be significantly extended.
